New Motorcycle!!

Just bought a motorcycle. I bought a dual-sport Suzuki DRZ 400 cc bike. A dual-sport bike is one that is basically a dirt bike, but it is street legal. It has mirrors and turn signals to make it street legal, but other than that it is a dirt bike. Ultimately I would like to drive a sport bike (aka crotch rocket) but a dual-sport is a better choice for a beginner bike. Not that a 400 cc bike doesn't have a lot of power, its more that it needs less maintenance and costs less to buy. It is nearly inevitable that I will at sometime lay down the bike, i would be pissed to break a $5000+ sport bike. With this bike I can have fun learning and not worry about jacking it up or breaking it..cuz if i do its not too big of a loss.

I am super excited to get on a bike and start learning the ropes. I am signed up for a motorcycles drivers class at Washtenaw for this weekend. That is just like a drivers-ed class, if I pass the class all I need to do is pass a written test at the dmv and then I will get my motorcycle drivers license. I also need to have insurance in order to get a license. I have been looking around at several different insurance carriers. Not too many seem to have motorcycle insurance. I am prolly gonna go with Progrssive cuz it is the cheapest so far.

Check back and I will have some pics up of my bike soon. I am going tomorrow to pick it up from the guy I bought it from up in Novi. I am really lucky because the guy I bought it from is really awesome. He could have easily taken advantage of me being a first time buyer, but he helped me out a lot and showed me a bunch of stuff and tips.

Utah Road Trip

I just got back to a.a. from my first road trip! well I once drove to Disney World from Ohio, but I don't remember the drive. The trip was pretty fun, me Scott, Jamie, and Mel all drove to Salt Lake City to watch the Michigan Women's Gymnastics team compete at the NCAA championships. The drive down was horribly long. 25 hours! We were all exhausted when we got into Salt Lake... except for Mel. He doesn't have a license so he couldn't drive, instead he slept. We are estimating that he slept for 20 of the 25 hour drive. We arrived in Utah around 7:30 AM. first thing, me and Jamie snuck into the girls' hotel to deliver a good luck poster. It was fun because it was like a covert-op. we had to make sure none of the girls saw us because they didn't know we drove to watch them. I think a lot of people thought Jamie was a terrorist because he was walking around with a hoodie down over his face.
The next thing we did was get breakfast at good o'l McDonald's, the only place we ate breakfast on the whole trip! Then we went on a scavenger hunt to find a Cow Bell. We started at CVS then went to Wal*Mart, Home Depot, some farmers place with chickens and stuff they ha them but were out! finally we went to A.A. Callisters where they had a cow bell you wouldn't think it would be so hard to find a cow bell but it is. It was funny to see peoples reactions when we asked for a cow bell.

So after the cow bell deal we went to our hotel to check in because we needed some sleep before the meet. Turned out we had to wait a long time because the room wasn't clean. When we finally got the room we showered up and decided to go to the first session. The Michigan girls were in the second session so we just waited around until they came to the arena, then we left the arena as they entered for warm up. After some dinner, we painted the word "BLUE" across our chests and entered the arena. This was what we had driven 25 hours to do... support the girls. It was basically like a movie, from the top steps of the arena we entered and started to do the "go blue" cheer with the cow bell. the girls all looked up at us, pointed and got all motivated as we came down to our seats to support them. There was motivational music going on in the background too, just like a movie.

The girls didn't end up doing the best, but it was such a big accomplishment for them to make it to NCAA's that it didn't really matter.

The drive back sucked again, but nothing interesting happened.

Jon McLaughlin - Indiana

I downloaded Jon McLaughlin's new CD named Indiana. The CD isn't supposed to come out till May, so I was extremely excited to be able to find someone hosting the files online. Unfortunately, it was already taken off or I would give you the link to it. I saw him in concert a short time ago, he opened for Matt Wertz at the Ark in downtown a.a. He is an amazing piano player and has a great voice. Check out his myspace site to hear some of his songs!

This is My New Blog

I went to Ohio State over the weekend for the gym competition. I got to see my sister who is getting fat (she is pregnant)! She showed me the ultrasound images of here baby... its a boy. I am glad its a boy because now I have a nephew to corrupt, haha. I also talked with my brother in law about Blogger. Which is why I created this. Ahdy and I think along the same lines, we both want to come up with million dollar ideas, and this is the next million dollar idea. With blogger, you can include Google AdSense. So every time someone clicks on the ads off to the right, I make a little money! Well I doubt I will actually make any real money, but its worth a shot.

I need a break from my biochem studying, my brain is fried! I think I've been studying all day.

I got home from Ohio State late last night. I walked into my house to see a kid passed out on the floor with sharpie all over his face and arms. He was using a bag full of empty cans as a pillow. Apparently we had a marvelous st patty's day party at our house. My roommate threw up on his laptop and cell phone, almost hooked up with a chick with a clit ring, and got into a heated verbal fight with another one of my roommates. Ya, he is Irish. But all is good, our house is amazingly clean now. We have these house elves that come and clean up for us when we slack off.

So along with "making money", this will be fun to tool around with. Feel free to leave a comment
